With iOS 14 and above you can disable the indoor doorbell chime from software. This is the preferred method as you can toggle it ON or OFF at any time without compromising functionality.
QUICK TIPS:
- Disabling the Doorbell Chime only turns OFF ringing of the chime inside your house. The doorbell itself makes a noise each time the button is pressed to let the person who pressed it know that it has been pressed and the residents notified.
- By default, the Home app turns the Chime Doorbell setting to OFF. If you are using the Chime Bypass Connector or not using the Doorbell Power Kit, this setting should remain OFF. This will reduce the risk of damaging your Wemo Doorbell.
Disable in the Home App
If you are using an iOS device with iOS 14 or later you can disable the chime in the settings. This allows you to turn the chime ON and OFF whenever you like.
NOTE: If you are using iOS 13 or earlier, you will not be able to follow these steps. You will need to install the bypass connector instead.
Step 1: Open the Apple® Home app and locate the tile for your doorbell.
Step 2: Tap on the tile to load the camera view then tap on the gear icon to bring up the doorbell settings.
Step 3: Tap on the Chime Doorbell toggle to turn the chime ON and OFF for this device.
- Green - ON
- Grey - OFF
NOTE: Additionally, if the Include in Favorites slider is green, that means it is turned ON as a favorite. If it is gray, favorite status is turned OFF.
