Step 2:  Plug your heater into a power outlet.

Step 3:  Power ON your Holmes Smart Heater.

Step 4:  Press the ENABLE WEMO User-added image button to activate its Wi-Fi radio, a green light on top of it should be ON.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure that the WEMO User-added image light on the Smart Heater’s control panel is lit and that the wireless signal bars User-added image on top of the Wemo light is enabled.

Step 5:  Tap the Settings icon on your Android™ or iOS device.  Enable its Wi-Fi feature and connect to your temporary Wemo Wi-Fi.

QUICK TIP:  If you’re trying to connect a Holmes® Extra-Large Room Smart Heater with Wemo, F7C047, you will see WeMo.HeaterA.xxx as its Wi-Fi name (SSID).  However, if you’re trying to connect a Holmes® Large Room Smart Heater with Wemo, F7C048, connect to the WeMo.HeaterB.xxx Wi-Fi name.  (The xxx are the last three digits or characters of the device's serial number.)

Step 6:  Launch the Wemo App you downloaded earlier and start setting it up by selecting your Wi-Fi name and entering your security password.  Once this is done, Remote Access will be enabled by default.

NOTE:  To connect to a hidden network (hidden Wi-Fi), you have to do the following:
  • Scroll to the bottom of the Wi-Fi list and select Other.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi name and security password.  If your Wi-Fi is unprotected, leave the Security field set to None
Step 7:  Follow the steps on the Wemo App to complete setup.

QUICK TIP:  To add another device, simply repeat Steps 2-4.  It will no longer require you for a Wi-Fi password if you set it up on the same Wemo App on your mobile device.

If you were unable to connect, the status light on your Wemo will blink orange, indicating it has no connection.  The blinking continues until problem is corrected.  As long as your router is ON, your Wemo units will function normally.  Make sure your router is set up to broadcast its Wi-Fi name.  If not, the Wemo will not be able to connect to it.  If the problem persists, try any of the following:
  • Use another smart device to connect to the heater's Wi-Fi.
  • Reset the heater.  After resetting, uninstall the Wemo App then reinstall it.
  • Unplug the power cord of the heater then plug it back in.
