Qi2 Wireless Chargers FAQ

Qi2 wireless charging is the next generation of the Qi standard, developed by the Wireless Power Consortium. It introduces significant upgrades, notably the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) inspired by Apple's MagSafe technology. This innovation ensures precise alignment between devices and chargers, enabling faster charging speeds up to 25W and seamless compatibility across Qi2-compatible devices.

Qi wireless charging uses electromagnetic induction between two coils—one in the charging pad and one in the device—to transfer power wirelessly. The pad generates a magnetic field when powered, which induces a current in the device's coil, charging its battery. Proper alignment and Qi certification ensure efficient and standardized charging across compatible devices, offering convenience without the need for cables. Learn more here.
