How to Connect Your Mobile Phone to a TV or Monitor with ConnectAir
You will use:
-
RX = Receiver (on the TV or monitor)
-
TX = Transmitter (plugs into your phone)
IMPORTANT: Check if your phone supports video output
Before you start, your phone must support video over USB-C, sometimes called DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Examples:
-
Many Samsung Galaxy phones with Samsung DeX support video out.
-
Some other Android flagships also support video out.
If your phone does not support video output over USB-C, ConnectAir will not show anything on the TV.
If you are not sure, check your phone’s specs for:
-
“USB-C video output”
-
“DisplayPort Alt Mode”
-
“Samsung DeX” or similar desktop mode
Step 1: Set up the Receiver (RX) on the TV or monitor
-
Plug in HDMI
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into an HDMI port on your TV or monitor.
-
Plug in USB power
Plug the RX’s USB cable into a USB-A port on the TV or into a USB power adapter.
The USB port must give enough power, so if the TV USB is weak, use a wall adapter.
-
Select the HDMI input
Turn on the TV or monitor.
Use the remote or buttons to pick the HDMI input where the RX is connected (for example: HDMI 1, HDMI 2).
You should now see the ConnectAir screen or a pairing screen on the TV/monitor.
Step 2: Plug the Transmitter (TX) into your phone
Take the TX unit. Plug it into the USB-C port on your phone.
Keep the TX plugged in during pairing and use.
Step 3: Put the Receiver (RX) in pairing mode
Find the reset button on the RX.
Press and hold the reset button for 2 seconds.
Release the button.
The RX is now in pairing mode.
Step 4: Put the Transmitter (TX) in pairing mode
With the TX plugged into your phone, find the pairing button on the TX.
Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds.
The LED on the TX starts flashing. This means it is trying to connect to the RX.
Wait up to 30 seconds.
If pairing works, your phone screen appears on the TV or monitor.
If your phone has a desktop mode such as Samsung DeX, you may see that interface instead.
If it still does not connect
-
Reset both units
-
RX: Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds (factory reset).
-
TX: Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes.
-
Try again
Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 with the TX still plugged into your phone.
-
If nothing shows on the TV even after pairing:
Your phone probably does not support video out over USB-C.
