Installing the Belkin Modular KVM Under Desk Mount, F1DN-MOD-MOUNT

The Belkin Modular KVM Under Desk Mount, F1DN-MOD-MOUNT is designed for the modular KVM/KM to be mounted under a desk or counter and allows the operator to easily control it via its integrated channel selection buttons or the supplied remote control.  In addition, each cable that attaches to the KVM/KM comes with VELCRO® tie wraps that can be used to secure the unit to the mount and signify the connected enclave by color.

  • Determine where you will be mounting the Belkin F1DN-MOD-MOUNT bracket and the orientation of the bracket.
  • Ensure that the bracket will be installed on a flat, clean, and dry surface.  The bracket is not intended for exposed outdoor installation.
  • Ensure that the maximum distance between the KVM/KM bracket and each computer does not exceed your cabling lengths.
  • Ensure that the keyboard, mouse, and display cables will reach the mounted KVM/KM.
  • Ensure that once the mount is installed, the keyboard, mouse, and the KVM/KM's remote control can be inserted.
  • Ensure that the remote control buttons are easily visible and accessible and the cable length is not exceeded.

Installation
 
Step 1:
Using the included template, determine the location for the mount to be installed and mark or drill the starter mounting holes.

Step 2:
Attach the power connector (with the mains disconnected) and all the required host and console cables to the KVM/KM unit.

Step 3:
Slide the unit with the power connector and host/console cables into the mount with the cables facing the tie wrap slots.

Step 4:
The unit can be secured using the included cable ties around each or several hosts and console cables.  Using the tie wraps, secure each cable to the mount.  Multiple colors are included to allow for easy recognition of the enclave connected.

Step 5:
Screw the bracket to the desk using four of the screws provided, or use other non-provided hardware as required.

Step 6:
Attach the keyboard, mouse, and remote control to the KVM/KM unit.

Step 7:
Once installed, follow the instructions provided with the KVM/KM on how to power up the KVM/KM unit as required.
