Before setting up your iPad's connection, you have to take note of these information:
- Wi-Fi name
- Wireless security mode
- Security key (password / passphrase)
Step 1:
Press the Home button.
Step 2:
Tap

Press the Home button.

Step 3:
Tap Wi-Fi.
Tap Wi-Fi.

If the Wi-Fi status says Not Connected, toggle the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.

Step 4:
Tap the Wi-Fi name of your router.
Tap the Wi-Fi name of your router.

NOTE: If the iPad can’t detect your Wi-Fi name but your other devices can, try enabling and disabling the Wi-Fi feature of the iPad to refresh the list of available networks.
Step 5:
Enter the Wi-Fi password on the Password field and tap Join.
Step 5:
Enter the Wi-Fi password on the Password field and tap Join.

NOTE: If the Join button is grayed out after typing in the Password, this would imply that the password you entered is either incorrect or is missing some characters.

Your iPad should now be connected to your Wi-Fi as indicated by the check mark beside the Wi-Fi name. The number of signal bars shows the strength of the internet connection. However, it has no bearing on your network speed.
