How to control the Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE using the physical controls on the speaker

The Belkin SOUNDFORM™ ELITE Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger, G1S0001 provides multiple ways of controlling the different features of the speaker.  You can control it through your voice command, the Google Home™ app, or the physical controls on the speaker itself.  This article will walk you through controlling the speaker using the physical controls on the top of the speaker.

Controlling the speaker using the physical controls

The Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE features touch-sensitive controls on the top of the unit.  These can be used to control the speaker without interaction with an app. 

NOTE:  Even though the controls are on a single speaker, certain controls can control multiple speakers if the speaker is part of a speaker group.

ControlDescription
Bluetooth®This button enables Bluetooth functionality of the speaker.  Holding this button down for 3 seconds will place the speaker into pairing mode.
Volume down
The volume down button lowers the volume level of the speaker.  The volume level will be displayed via the status lights on the front of the speaker.
  • If the speaker is part of a speaker group, only the volume of this single speaker will be lowered
Play/PauseThis button will pause or continue the audio playback on the speaker, speaker group.
Volume up
This button raises the volume level of the speaker.  The volume level will be displayed via the status lights on the front of the speaker.
  • If the speaker is part of a speaker group, only the volume of this one speaker will be raised.
Microphone ON/OFF
This button toggles the built-in microphones to turn ON or OFF.  The status of the microphones are shown using the status lights on the front panel of the speaker.
  • Turning the microphones OFF will cause the Google Assistant™ to inform you that the microphone is muted and the four status lights on the front of the speaker will light orange.
     
  • Turning the microphones ON will cause the Google Assistant to inform you that the microphones are unmuted and the status lights on the front panel of the speaker will turn OFF.
