Connecting an HP® Touchpad to the Wi-Fi

The HP® Touchpad is one of the tablets available in the market today.  You can connect it to your active Wi-Fi for seamless internet access.  To connect an HP Touchpad to the Wi-Fi, perform the following steps:
 
Turn on the Wi-Fi

 
Step 1:
Open the System menu in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Step 2:
Tap Wi-Fi then tap Turn on Wi-Fi.
 
You may proceed to connect to the Wi-Fi.  Follow the steps below.
 
Connect to the Wi-Fi

 
Step 1: 
Turn on Wi-Fi.
 
NOTE:  Make sure the Wi-Fi is turned ON by following the instructions specified above.
 
Step 2:
Connect to the Wi-Fi by tapping the network name.  If it is an open network, make sure Open is displayed in the Security field, and then tap Connect.  If the network you want is not displayed, proceed to the 
next step 
 
NOTE:  If the network is secured, enter your Username and/or Password, and tap Sign In
 
Step 3:
Tap Join network and enter the network name.
 
Step 4:
Tap the Security field, and then tap the network security type (ex. Open, WPA-personal or WEP).
 
Step 5:
Tap Connect.
 
Step 6:
A series of different screens will appear depending on the network type.  Enter the Username and Password if you are prompted to do so.
 
Step 7:
Tap Sign In.
 
You’re now connected to the Wi-Fi.
 
Changing your Wi-Fi connection settings
 
If you are having trouble with your network connection you may need to change your connection settings.  To do this, follow the steps below:

 
Step 1:
Open Wi-Fi then tap the network name.
 
Step 2:
In Automatic IP settings, tap ON or OFF.
 
• When Automatic IP settings is ON, the IP address is automatically and dynamically configured.
• When Automatic IP settings is OFF, you can manually configure the IP address.

 
Step 3:
If you turned Automatic IP settings OFF, enter any of the following:
 
Address: The IP address of the network
Subnet: The Subnet address of the network
Gateway: The Gateway address of the network
DNS Servers: Addresses (#1 and #2)
