MAC Address Pass Through
The Belkin Dock Utility provides the capability of taking over the MAC address of a network adapter on a computer. This will prioritize cloning or copying the MAC address of a physical ethernet adapter. If there are no detected ethernet adapter, it will instead clone or copy the WiFi adapter MAC address.
To enable it, a compatible adapter needs to be plugged into a port on your computer. Once that is done, the user interface of the utility will change to the image below.
The screen will show the adapter’s current MAC address as assigned by your computer, and the MAC Address Pass Through option is enabled.
When the MAC Address Pass Through option is selected, a spinner will appear on the screen, indicating that the MAC Address Pass Through operation is taking place.
After a few seconds a checkmark will appear next to the option indicating that the functionality has been enabled. At that stage, the Current MAC Address will display the new MAC Address that it took from the selected adapter. This means that the MAPT operation is successful.
