Both front and rear 3.5 mm audio ports support stereo (two speaker) output.

Only the front USB-C and USB-A ports support Ghost Charging.

8.  What is the maximum power output for charging a laptop with this dock?

The front USB-C port will support up to 60 W of power output for charging your laptop.

9.  What do the different colors on the light of the dock mean?

The light turns green if the host device is plugged in correctly and red if connected to power supply but the laptop is disconnected or OFF.

COMPATIBILITY

2.  Are there any USB-C port requirements for using the dock?

For video functionality, your computer will need a video-enabled USB-C 3.1 port.  If your USB-C port is not video-enabled, your dock will not display video and function only as a hub.

3.  What operating systems will work with this product?

This dock will work with macOS® Sierra or later and Windows® 7 or later.

4.  How many external monitors can the dock support?

The dock can support one monitor via HDMI (4K at 30 Hz).

5.  What is the maximum supported resolution of the dock?

The HDMI port on this dock can support up to 4K monitor at 30 Hz.

6.  Does the dock support Thunderbolt™ 3?

The dock will work with a Thunderbolt 3 host device but not with Thunderbolt 3 peripherals.

7.  Does the dock support USB-C Gen 2?

No.  The dock supports USB-C Gen 1.

8.  Do the 3.5 mm audio ports support stereo audio (two speakers)?

Yes.  Both the front and rear audio ports support stereo audio (two speakers).

9.  Do the 3.5 mm audio ports support microphones?

Only the front 3.5 mm audio port supports a microphone.

10.  Does the dock allow me to use my laptop screen and an external monitor at the same time?

Yes, in your computer's operating system you can choose to mirror your laptop screen to the external monitor or use the external monitor as a secondary display.

11.  Can I use additional USB hubs with the dock?

Yes.

12.  Can the dock be used as a hub?

Yes, but it will need to be powered using the included power adapter.

13.  Can I use an Apple® SuperDrive with this dock?

No.

No.  The drivers should be built in to your computer operating system.

CONNECTIVITY

1.  Does the dock work when it is not connected to a power supply?

No.  The dock requires power to function.

2.  If my laptop does not have an ethernet port, will I still be able to get online or connect to the network?

Yes.  The dock has its own ethernet adapter and an RJ45 gigabit ethernet connection to connect to your wired network.  As long as you are connected to the dock using the front USB-C connection, you can connect to your network.

3.  What happens if I plug speakers/headphones into both 3.5 mm audio ports at the same time?

The dock outputs the same audio over both the front and rear audio ports at the same time.  The sound will be duplicated on both sets of speakers/headphones.

4.  Can I charge my smartphone and/or tablet and my laptop if they are all plugged in to the dock?

Yes, though some tablets, like the iPad Pro®, may need to be turned OFF or plugged into the front USB-A port to charge due to ampere requirements.

5.  Does the front USB-C port support video output?

No.  The front USB-C port is designed to connect to your computer.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1.  What should I do if I’m not able to get any sound through the audio port?

Check the volume level in your operating system to ensure they are set correctly, and that the correct audio output device is chosen.

2.  What should I do if I’m not able to get any sound using the microphone on my headset?

First make sure that your headset is plugged into the front audio input port on your dock.  The front audio port is a 4-conductor 3.5 mm connector that supports both audio input and output.  Your headset will need to support the same type of connection.

3.  Why is my laptop not charging with this dock?
