Connecting your MacBook to the internet using Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock HD with Cable, F4U085

This article will guide you on how to connect your MacBook Air® or MacBook Pro® to the internet using an ethernet cable through the Belkin Thunderbolt™ Express Dock HD with Cable, F4U085.
 
IMPORTANT:  Make sure that your MacBook®’s OS X® version is updated.  For the complete list of requirements, click here.

 
Step 1:
Connect an ethernet cable from the Thunderbolt Express Dock to your router or existing network.
 
Step 2:
Connect the supplied Thunderbolt cable from the MacBook to the Thunderbolt Express Dock.
 
Step 3:
On your MacBook computer, click the Apple icon then select System Preferences….

 
Step 4:
Click Network.

You should be able to see the Thunderbolt Ethernet Slot.  If you don’t see this connection, proceed to Step 5.
 
NOTE:  In this example, Thunderbolt Ethernet Slot 2 is currently active.

Step 5:
Click on the plus sign.
 
Step 6:
Select Thunderbolt Ethernet Slot then click Create.

Step 7:
Click Apply

Your MacBook should now be successfully connected to the internet using the Thunderbolt Express Dock.
