Unable to connect your Blu-ray Disc™ player to the Wi-Fi

Blu-ray Disc™ players have Wi-Fi capability that allow you to readily connect it to your Belkin router.  However, if your Blu-ray Disc player does not have a Wi-Fi capability, you can connect it to your network through a wired setup or you can purchase an optional Wi-Fi adapter and connect it to the USB port of your Blu-ray Disc player if you would like a wireless setup.

NOTE:  This article assumes that your Belkin wireless router is already setup and working properly.  Make sure that your Blu-ray Disc player and TV are powered ON before proceeding.

Powercycle your Blu-ray Disc player
 
Check if other devices on your network have an active internet connection as your player may be experiencing an internet outage.  Perform a powercycle on your player by turning it OFF for at least 30 seconds before turning it back ON and then test the internet again.
 
Verify your Wi-Fi settings
 
Make sure that you are connected to the correct Wi-Fi and that you entered the right password or security key.  To learn how to check the Wi-Fi settings of your Belkin router, click here
 
NOTE:  The Wi-Fi password or security key is case-sensitive.
 
You may also refresh your Blu-ray Disc player’s Wi-Fi feature to resolve the connectivity issue.  Just turn it OFF and turn it back ON.  You may reconnect to your Wi-Fi after a few seconds.
 
Manually configure your IP settings
 
To manually configure the players’ IP settings, check your router's IP settings first by following the instructions here.  Once you’re done, reconnect the Blu-ray Disc player to your Wi-Fi.  When you get to the part where it asks you how to configure the IP settings, select Manual.  On the IP settings screen, set the Blu-ray Disc player’s Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, and DNS servers the same as the router’s.  As for the IP Address, DO NOT make it the same value as the router’s, but make sure they are within the same range.  For example, if the router's IP address is 192.168.2.100, you can set the Blu-ray Disc player’s to 192.168.2.120.  Then, continue setting up the Blu-ray Disc player again.
 
NOTE:  If you’re prompted to use a proxy server, select No.
 
MAC Filtering
 
If you're using MAC Address Filtering on your Wi-Fi, you will need to add your Blu-ray Disc player’s MAC address to your list first before gaining access.  To learn how to set up Wireless MAC Filter to permit users to connect to your Wi-Fi, click here.
 
Reset the Blu-ray Disc player
 
Resolve your connectivity issues by resetting your player.  Refer to your device's documentation for more details.  After resetting, you may set up your player again.
 
NOTE:  All stored information will be deleted if you perform a reset on your player.
 
Update your Blu-ray Disc player firmware
 
Updating the firmware of your Blu-ray Disc player may also resolve your Wi-Fi connectivity issue.  Check the current firmware version of your player and if needed, download the latest Blu-ray Disc player software and perform a firmware update on your device.  Various methods may be used to update a player.  Refer to your device's documentation for more details.
 
If you still cannot connect your player to the Wi-Fi after trying the suggestions mentioned, you can contact your player’s manufacturer for support.
