HARDWARE INFORMATION

1. Can you daisy chain a Dual User IP KVM?

No.  Only the Single User IP KVMs (F1DP108G and F1DP116G) can be daisy chained.

2. Can you daisy chain a Dual User SMB Cat5 KVM to other KVMs?

No.  The Dual User SMB Cat5 KVMs cannot be daisy chained.

3. Can you daisy chain an IP KVM to another IP KVM?

No.  If an IP KVM is being used, it must reside at Bank 00 (the top bank).  Any subsequent KVMs being daisy chained (PRO3 or SMB Cat5 KVM) must reside under Bank 00 (e.g., Bank 01, Bank 02, and so on).

4. Does the Belkin F1DP101M support USB?

No.  The Belkin F1DP101M only supports PS2.  However, if a USB to PS2 adapter is used, USB keyboard and mouse can be used with this IP device.

5. Can the Belkin Secure KVMs be daisy chained together?

No.  The lack of ability to daisy chain Belkin Secure KVMs (SKVMs) is actually a security feature.

6. Are there possible issues I will encounter when daisy chaining the Belkin PRO3 KVMs?

Sometimes, a user will experience Input and Output (I|O) issues when daisy chaining the Belkin PRO3 KVMs; the mouse, keyboard and / or display will not work on the secondary KVM.  To resolve this issue, first boot up Bank 01, then Bank 00. Then, connect the daisy chain cable to the Out-port of Bank 01 to the In-port of Bank 00.  You should then be able to manage both KVMs from the same keyboard and mouse connected to the console side of Bank 00 (primary KVM.)

5. I use the Belkin F1086U to get the video and USB from a remote location to another location and connect it to the Belkin F1DN104K.  What should I do if the mouse cursor keeps moving around the screen even with slight mouse motion?

Place the Belkin F1DN104K near the computers and use standard USB-A to B cables to connect the computers to the Belkin F1DN104K.  This is to properly receive Absolute Mouse signals between the computers and the Belkin F1DN104K.  Then, use the Belkin F1D086U to only extend the video to the remote location for each computer using the KM.  An additional Belkin F1D086U is then used on the Mouse port of the Belkin F1DN104K to extend keyboard and mouse to the remote locations.  To learn more, click here.

NOTE:  This issue happens because the Absolute Mouse drivers, the cross between touch and mouse inputs, are being used on the Belkin F1DN104K.  Because the Belkin F1DN104K has restricted I/O for security reasons, issues arise when extenders such as the Belkin F1086U are used.
