Belkin Media Server feature common issues

There are a few reasons why the Media Server feature would encounter issues when sharing media files from the storage device attached to your router's USB ports.

1.  The USB drive is not recognized or a file system is not supported by the router.

Check the light if it's lit.  If it is not, then the USB storage device may need an external power supply.

2.  Your media is an unsupported file type that the Media Server cannot share.

Verify if the media file type is supported by the Media Server.

3.  The Media Server feature has been disabled or the drive you wish to share is unchecked in the Media Server configuration page.

Check if the Media Server feature is enabled.  If it is not, enable it.  To learn more about enabling the Media feature of your router, click here.

4.  If your router has a USB 3.0 port and you have a USB 2.0 drive.

It will still work, but for the best performance, make sure your USB 3.0 drive is connected into the port labeled USB 3.0.
