During Setup

During the initial setup of the Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE, it will check if there is a newer version of the firmware available online.  If there is, it will update and continue setup.  A notification message will show in the Google Home™ app informing you that the firmware is updating.   

After Setup

After the Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE has been set up, it will check each day at midnight to see if a new firmware version is available.  If a new version is available, it will attempt to update.\n
  1.  If the Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE is currently streaming audio, it will not attempt an update.  It will pause the update process and try again the next day at midnight.
  2.  If the Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE is currently idle, it will download and install the new firmware version.

Before you begin, you will need the following:

This article assumes you have a working Google™ Account and have installed the Google Home app.  For information on obtaining a Google Account, click here.  To download and install the Google Home app, click here.

Step 1:

Connect the AC adapter to your Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE and then plug it into an AC outlet.  The speaker will begin to start up.  Once it has started up, the four status lights on the front of the speaker will begin to slowly pulse white, and the Google Assistant will inform you that it is ready for setup.

Open the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.  On the main screen, tap the plus (+) sign on the top-left corner of the screen.

On the Add and manage screen, tap on Set up device.

On the Set up screen, tap Set up new devices.

On the Choose a home screen, choose either an existing home you set up before or tap on Create another home to create one.  Tap Next to continue.

Your Google Home app will search for nearby devices in setup mode.  Once it has found a device, it will ask you to confirm if this is the device you want to set up.  Tap Next to continue.

The Google Home app will play a tone through the speaker to confirm if it is the speaker you want to set up.  Tap Yes to continue or Try Again if you did not hear the sound.

Connect your Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE to the Wi-Fi your smartphone or tablet is connected to.  Tap Next to continue.

Your Google Home app will display a notification once your Belkin SOUNDFORM ELITE is connected to your Wi-Fi.  You can continue following the instructions from the app as it configures your speaker for any optional third party and Google services.
