What is MAC address pass-through support?MAPT support is useful when some networks look for a specific MAC address to allow access to the network. MAPT allows the MAC address of your computer to pass through the Belkin Dock to gain that access. This is also known as MAC ID Cloning.
What is a MAC address?A media access control (MAC) address is the unique identifier of any system on a network. Every active device that connects to a network has a unique MAC address given to it.
How does Standby support work?Standby support works by automatically resetting the docks/hubs to default when they are disconnected.

How do I download and install the software?To do this, download the Belkin Dock Utility software to the computer where you will perform the installation. Run the file, and follow the on-screen instructions. The process is very straightforward and will not require any additional intervention.

\t\t\tOnce the installation process is complete, make sure to reboot the computer so that the changes can take place.
How do I use the software?The software will launch when you turn ON your computer and will run in the background. When you plug your system into a compatible Belkin Dock, it will start the MAPT.
What is WiFi auto-switch?This feature within the software prioritizes the ethernet connection over the WiFi connection when the computer's ethernet is connected to a compatible Belkin device. WiFi will resume normal function when the computer is removed from the Belkin Dock.
How do I know if the software is working?The Belkin Dock Utility icon in the system tray will be green when a compatible dock is connected and the MAPT option is enabled, indicating the pass-through feature is active. If the icon is grey, it means that a compatible dock is not detected.
What happens if I close the software on my computer?If you close the software on the computer, the dock will stop passing the system's MAC address and any access to your network that requires your systems MAC address will be restricted.

Symptom: The app is in the grey error state and persists in that state even after a cold/warm boot or install/reinstall.

This case was caused by a bug in prior releases of Belkin Dock Utility (was Belkin Dock Manager) and should be resolved in v2.6.4 and later. Grey disconnected will be displayed if no dock or adapter is attached.

Cause: The app is confused about the MAC Address Pass Through (MAPT) state based on the following two items:
 

\n\n

a. The Network Interface Controllers (NICs) of the laptop are enabled or disabled.

\n\n

b. There is a MAC address cloned in the network driver settings of the adapter or dock.
 

\n\n

You can try the solutions below.
 

\n\n
\n


Solution #1: Confirm the Dock Manager Utility service is running.

\n\n


1. Click the Windows® Start button or search bar and enter “Service”.

\n\n

 

\n\n

2. Choose Run as administrator from the right-hand list.

\n\n

 

\n\n

3. Locate the Belkin Dock Utility entry in the Services list.

\n\n

 

\n\n

4. Start the service if Status does not show Running.

\n\n

5. If the Belkin Dock Utility service is not listed, download and install the software.

\n\n

Solution #2: Confirm the adapter/dock is enabled.
 

\n\n

1. Type "View Network Connection" in the search bar and run it. Then locate the laptop’s NIC. 

\n\n

 

\n\n

2. Locate the adapter or dock network connection and enable it if it is disabled. The name of the device depends on the connected adapter or dock.

3. If an adapter/dock cannot be found, check the adapter/dock connection, and confirm the attached device is supported by Dock Manager Utility.

Solution #3: If there is another MAC address in the driver setting of the adapter/dock.

1. Type “Device Manager” in the search bar and run it. 

\n\n

 

\n\n

2. Locate the network adapter of the USB-C® dock or adapter.

\n\n

 

\n\n

3. Right-click on the USB-C adapter or dock NIC and click on Properties.

\n\n


4. Click on the Advanced tab in Properties, then locate the Network Address in the Property column.

\n\n


5. If the Value box of the Network Address already contains the MAC address of the laptop, then click on the Not Present radio button and then click OK to set the Network Address of the USB-C adapter or dock to its default MAC address.
