1.  What is the Belkin BOOST↑UP™ Wireless Charging Spot?

The Belkin BOOST↑UP™ Wireless Charging Spot lets you enjoy secure wireless charging in public spaces.  This universal charging system is available in surface, recessed, and hidden mounting options that allows wireless charging to be integrated into most surfaces including conference rooms, lounges, hotels, and retail locations.

2.  What is the warranty for this product?

The product comes with a 2-year limited warranty.  

3.  What is the charging output of the device?

The Charging Spot can charge the iPhone® X, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 8 at up to 7.5 W and all other Qi™-compatible devices at up to 10 W.

4.  What is the recommended operating/storage temperature?

Operating temperature:  0°C to 35°C 
Storage temperature:  -40°C to 85°C

5.  Which model phones or accessories are compatible with the Charging Spot?

The Charging Spot is compatible with all Qi-certified devices and accessories.  Qi (pronounced “chee”) is the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) standard for wireless charging.  To find out if your device is Qi-certified, please check with your phone or accessory manufacturer and/or your wireless carrier.

6.  What functions does the light indicate?

Solid Green – Charging / fully charged
Orange – Device is not compatible / misaligned device / foreign object detected

7.  Can the light be turned OFF?

No.

8.  Does the Charging Spot cause the phone/battery to heat up while charging?

The Charging Spot has a diameter of 3.4 in.  The surface mounted Belkin B2B170/B2B174 fits in a 3.25 in/80 mm circular hole.  The recessed/hidden mounted Belkin B2B180/B2B184 fits within a 3.5 in/90 mm circular hole.

Yes, the Charging Spot is an intelligent charger.  The phone and wireless charger will communicate with each other and give the appropriate commands.

4.  Does the Charging Spot have a cooling fan in it?

No.  The Charging Spot features a heat-efficient, fan-free design that helps keep the charger cool.

5.  Does it need to be plugged in to charge a device?

Yes.

6.  Can this charger be used with a case that has a magnet in it?

It is safe to use a case with a magnetic backing, however the magnet may interfere with the wireless charging depending on the location of the magnet and if it makes the case thicker than 3 mm.

7.  Does the Charging Spot have surge protection capabilities?

No.

8.  How do I clean the Charging Spot?

You can use a standard electrical cleaning spray to clean the Charging Spot.  

9.  Can I use my phone while using this charger?

Before you proceed, make sure to have the following:

NOTE:  The steps below apply to Belkin B2B170 and B2B174.

Step 1:
Insert the Charging Spot into the grommet hole and set to the desired orientation.  Gently press down on the top of the Charging Spot.
\n

Step 2:
Tighten the bottom screws.  Do a full turn of one screw and then do another full turn of the other.  Repeat this step until both screws are tight and the Charging Spot is secure.
\n

Step 3:
Plug in the charging cable to the bottom of the Charging Spot.
\n

Step 4:
Use the cable management and zip ties to secure the charging cable to the table.

Step 5:
Plug in the charging cable to a wall outlet.
\n

Step 6:
Test the Charging Spot by placing a Qi™-enabled phone on top and verify that the charging session activates.

Mark the center of the charging area on the top surface or use the optional sticker placement tool to apply the sticker.

NOTE:  The optional sticker placement tool is available in black or white from Belkin on request.  Actual surface design is customizable, at customer's discretion.

Step 2:
Insert the Charging Spot through the grommet hole entering from beneath the table.  Gently press upwards from the bottom to ensure that there is no open space between the Charging Spot and the table.

Step 3:
Tighten the bottom screws.  Do a full turn of one screw and then do another full turn of the other.  Repeat this step until both screws are tight and the Charging Spot is secure.

Step 4:
Plug in the charging cable to the bottom of the Charging Spot.
\n

Step 5:
Use the cable management and zip ties to secure the charging cable to the table.

Plug in the charging cable to a wall outlet.
