To obtain an IP address automatically on a computer with Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 operating system, follow the steps below:
Windows 10
Windows 8 / 8.1
Step 1:
Right-click the Network icon located at the bottom-right corner of the Desktop screen then click Open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 2:
Click Change adapter settings.
Step 3:
On the Ethernet Properties window, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then click Properties.
Step 4:
Click the radio button beside Obtain an IP address automatically then click OK.
Step 5:
Click Close.
Step 1:
Press the Windows key + D on your keyboard to show the Desktop.
Step 2:
Right-click the Network icon located at the bottom-right corner of the Desktop screen then click Open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 3:
Click Change adapter settings.
Step 4:
On the Ethernet Properties window, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then click Properties.
Step 5:
Click the radio button beside Obtain an IP address automatically then click OK.
Step 6:
Click Close.
