Remove the USB Parallel Adapter Driver before installing the revised driver.

Note: If you have more than one Belkin product that requires a driver, make sure you are not deleting the files for those products.

CLICK ON

  1. START (Windows Tool Bar, usually at the bottom left side of screen).
  2. SETTINGS (from the Menu List).
  3. CONTROL PANEL (from the Menu List).
  4. Double click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon.
  5. Click on the Belkin software.
  6. Click on the Add/Remove button.
  7. Accept the default to delete the files.
  8. If prompted to Restart the computer click on NO.
  9. Close out of Add/Remove Programs and the Control Panel.

DOUBLE CLICK ON THE

  1. My Computer icon
  2. C:
  3. WINDOWS folder
  4. INF folder
  5. OTHER folder
  6. Delete the Belkin Software (or USB Smart Cable).
  7. Close out of everything. Leave the computer on.

Note: If the INF folder is not displayed, on the top tool bar, click on VIEW (Windows 98 users) or TOOLS (Windows ME users), then select FOLDER OPTIONS from the drop-list, then select the VIEW tab at the top. Click on ‘SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS ’ or ‘SHOW ALL FILES’ to select it and click OK. You should now see the INF folder.

REMOVE THE VID_1293 or VID_05AB or VID_047E FROM THE REGISTRY EDITOR

    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    2. ENUM
    3. USB
    4. Delete anything that begins with VID_1293 or VID_05AB or VID_047E. Highlight the folder and press the delete key on the keyboard.
    1. SYSTEM
    2. CURRENT CONTROL SET
    3. CONTROL
    4. PRINT
    5. MONITORS
    6. Delete the Belkin software. Highlight it and press the delete key on the keyboard.
    7. Close out of the Registry Editor

CLICK ON

  1. START (Windows Tool Bar, usually in the bottom left corner)
  2. FIND (Windows 98 users), or SEARCH (Windows ME users) from the Menu List.
  3. FILES OR FOLDERS from the Menu List.
  4. Type Belkin (in the ‘Search for files or folders named’ field – Windows ME users or in the ‘Named’ field – Windows 98 users.)
  5. Make sure you are Looking In the root of your C drive. (For Windows 98 Users, ‘Include Subfolders’ should be checked.)
  6. Highlight and delete the Belkin software files.
  7. (repeat this step to search and delete F5U002 files).
  8. Close out of everything and leave the computer on.
