Belkin Ships its Class Leading CAT5 KVM Switch

for Mid-Range Business

Designed for small to medium server environments, the SMB CAT5 KVM Switch

reduces server rack cable clutter and extends range

(West Gosford, NSW) – 1 February, 2006 – Belkin announces its new OmniView SMB CAT5 KVM Switch family, designed and priced especially for small to medium organisations. The new SMB CAT5 KVM solution is the best way to reduce cable clutter and simplify deployment, for centralised control of servers in business, education and government applications.

“Until now, the cost of using CAT5 extension technology in conjunction with KVM switches was prohibitively expensive for many companies and organisations,” said Philip Hodgson, Product Manager for Access Solutions at Belkin. “Based on the world number-one selling mid-range PRO2 KVM switch, the SMB CAT5 family is not only value-priced, but offers the same robust feature set, reliability, and of course, dependable Belkin service and support.”

The OmniView SMB CAT5 KVM Switch expands upon the functionality of the popular PRO2 KVM Switch family. By adding CAT5 extension technology, the SMB CAT5 KVM is backwards compatible and interoperable with the PRO2 KVM. Available in 4-, 8-, and 16-port models, the SMB CAT5 KVM offers easy expandability through dedicated daisy chain ports to control up to 256 servers. It extends the distance between the server and switch up to 30 metres. The SMB CAT5 KVM saves valuable rack space, fitting in a 1U rack shelf, and working in conjunction with compact Belkin Server Interface Modules.
