Belkin Connects With New $18 Million Tuggerah Facility

(West Gosford, NSW) – 7 March, 2006 – International computer connectivity company Belkin Limited is set to call the Tuggerah Business Park home courtesy of a new $18 million purpose-built distribution facility.

The start of construction of the new 12,116 sq m premises will be marked with an onsite event today attended by Wyong Mayor Bob Graham.

Mayor Graham said the new purpose-built, state-of-the-art Belkin premises, to be developed by Valad Property Group, will have a major positive impact on the local economy, both during construction and when operational.

“Belkin is a large, multi-national company and their presence at Tuggerah Business Park is a strong vote of confidence in the park’s facilities and the wider local economy,” he said.

“The construction project will provide a valuable injection into the local economy and, when completed the development will provide a new showcase, world-class business facility for the region.”

Belkin, headquartered in California, is a global leader in connectivity solutions for the computer and consumer electronics user and employs more than 1200 people and has gross sales approaching US$1 billion worldwide.

The Tuggerah Park facility will be the company’s new Australia/New Zealand headquarters.

“Since establishing in Australia five years ago, we have enjoyed exceptional market growth and are confident of continuing that into the future,” said Mike Bell, Belkin Managing Director Australia/New Zealand.

“These new premises represent a dramatic expansion of our Australian operations and provide us with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and flexibility to fully capitalise on future growth opportunities. We are also proud to be strengthening our relationship with the Central Coast community and the world-class Tuggerah Business Park.”

Belkin will join the likes of Sanitarium Health Foods, publishers Allen & Unwin, The NSW Police Call Centre and GIO as a major tenant at the park.

The new facility is being purpose built for Belkin by Sydney-based Valad Property Group on a 2.5 hectare site within the Tuggerah Business Park.

Valad’s Martyn McCarthy said “we are working very closely with Belkin Limited to ensure their new premises meets their needs now and into the future.”
