10th Annual Golf Classic
benefiting youth in the California YMCA Youth & Government Program
Monday, October 5, 2009
Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles
Dear friends,
Please join us for our 10th annual Belkin Golf Classic on October 5, 2009. Funds raised for this event support the YMCA Youth & Government program, including the scholarship fund, which creates the opportunity for young people to expand in civic awareness and democratic processes. With your help and competitive spirit, we hope to raise $70,000 for scholarships and the Youth & Government Endowment Fund.
Our day of golfing will be followed by fine dining and entertainment—at the inimitable Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. The tournament will feature individual and team competition, as well as several challenging contests. Evening festivities will include a silent auction and awards.
I sincerely hope you’ll join us for a great day and a good cause.
Most cordially,
Chet Pipkin

THE CALIFORNIA YMCA YOUTH & GOVERNMENT PROGRAM
Since its inception 61 years ago, the California YMCA Youth & Government program has helped prepare high-school students for success in life.
The program offers two excellent educational models: Legislature/Court and United Nations.
Model Legislature/Court. This statewide program gives 2200 high-school students from 90 different California YMCAs a six-month “hands-on” experience based on our state government. The teen delegates write bills, prepare briefs, run for elected offices, and attend statewide training events culminating in a five-day Model Legislature & Court Program held in Sacramento.
Model United Nations. This model engages 350 middle-school students in an interactive simulation of the United Nations. Each student serves as an ambassador representing a country from around the world. Through research and writing on critical issues impacting our world today, and through interaction with other ambassadors, participants learn to appreciate diverse cultures and develop a better understanding of our global community.

Funds raised through the Belkin golf tournament provide scholarships for students from low-income families
and help us keep our fees affordable for all students.
Thank you for your participation.
